We tried something new for summer 2020, for the serious Shakespeare aficionado: an online conservatory-style program that included intensive voice, movement, text and monologue work, plus a deep dive into Elizabethan and Jacobean Theatre history, comparative examinations of Folio and Quarto texts, and explorations of Elizabethan original practices -- all from the actor's perspective. The program culminated in an online showcase presentation of scenes and monologues demonstrating the work of the preceding several weeks. Enrollment in the program required previous acting experience and a successful audition. Scholarship assistance was available for families in need.
Auditions are by appointment. Actors are asked to prepare a 60-90 second, memorized Shakespeare speech for the audition. There will be a short Q & A interview as well.
If you have already participated in one of our ASW programs, you do not need to audition again.
