Communications Manager

SF Shakes seeks a dynamic & detail-oriented Communications Manager to join its team of staff, artists and board members dedicated to its mission of making the words and themes of Shakespeare accessible to everyone. 

This position will engage and steward all stakeholders, including camp families, donors, schools and other tour venues, event attendees and performance audience members. The ideal candidate will have marketing and development experience, as this position will execute marketing campaigns, manage social media, support events, write grants, and process payments. We seek someone with demonstrated aptitude for Salesforce CRM who is excited to actively upgrade their skills. Experience coordinating multiple communication channels (email, website, direct mail, social etc) and multitasking are also important skills, as are strong written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. 

This is a full-time position, with salary range of $32,000 - $36,000. Benefits include full health insurance, two weeks paid vacation, and a flexible work environment. Some evening and weekend work is required to attend events, performances, and meetings. A minimum of two years of work experience in an administrative capacity is strongly preferred. Job Description:

Direct Marketing – 25%
- Maintain existing marketing efforts to achieve current enrollment and attendance levels
- Participate in camp marketing project to increase retention & “customer journey”
- Onsite marketing at Free Shakespeare in the Park and other performances and events
- Support volunteer recruitment & partnership communication
- As candidate matures into their job, work with in-kind or contracted consultant to streamline current tour booking processing and current tour marketing using “profiles”, automated invoicing, etc.
- Oversee efforts to maintain clean data in Salesforce; evolve from corrections to data management policies & tools

Institutional Marketing/Communications – 25%
- Support the Implementation of a communications plan & calendar
- Develop & execute all social media
- Update organizational website
- Deploy emails, manage lists to ensure appropriate messages reach the right people
- Write and distribute press releases, follow up and pitch stories and create visibility opportunities for SF Shakes
- Photography & video – coordinate volunteers to maintain & improve assets
- Participate in development of identity/brand/institutional voice

Development – 25%
- Primary responsibility for grant writing & administration (contracting, invoicing, etc.)
- Donor administration (gift processing and stewardship activities)
- Event support (invitations, onsite, followup – board match, receptions, gala, etc.)
- Direct mail (segment lists, customize messages, merge mailings, print/stuff/post)
- Grant calendar management
- Ongoing and adhoc donor reports and dashboard maintenance & development

Internal Communications – 25%:
Financial – 10%
- Improve efficiency & user-friendliness, timeliness & accuracy of financial processes & reporting
- Payment processing (camp, tour, individuals, grants), including banking, Authnet, Quckbooks Online
- Prep of reports & documents for outside accountant firm
Training/HR/Office Management – 15%
- Meeting planning & coordination; office communication upgrades
- Light office management (answer phones, etc.) & office organizing/cleaning/upgrading & IT coordination
- Dreamforce, Trailhead, Social Media training/skills upgrading
