We offer a variety of education programs that give people throughout California the chance to engage and explore the magic of Shakespeare’s plays. Experts in acting, Elizabethan history, stage combat, dance, music, production design, and/or clowning comprise the diverse team of teaching artists who inspire people with their eclectic skills and rich teaching experience.
In the Bay Area, our Shakespeare Camps run throughout the summer as well as Upstart Crows Saturdays over the Spring and Fall school semesters. In the Summer, we offer Shakespeare Sprites (ages 4-6), Shakespeare Players (ages 7-13), Upstart Crows (ages 12-18), and the Advanced Shakespeare Workshop (ages 12-18).
Midnight Shakespeare gives opportunities to the next generation to discover the joys of Shakespeare in disadvantaged neighborhoods. Current programs operate in West Oakland with the Civicorps, San Francisco with Paul Revere School, San Jose with Cadwallader School, and Antioch with Park Middle School.
Our Tailor Made Residency programs span from on-your-feet Shakespeare Workshops to extended, project-based learning Artist-in-Residence collaborations. Even adults have the opportunity to engage with Shakespeare's works through programs like Prologue or Shakespeare for All.
