Campers enrolling in McLaren sessions may enroll for as little as $240, with scripts, costumes, supplies for the performance, and aftercare all included! (Regular camp fee is $660, or $810 with aftercare.)
Students will study Shakespeare's theatre in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Campers are taught by theatre practitioners who lead interactive classes in Shakespeare's poetry, clowning traditions, and stage combat. The camp culminates in a final performance of an abridged Shakespeare play for family and friends. Experience is welcome but not required to get into the act and have fun with your friends this summer! Visit our FAQ page for additional information.
Our two-week Shakespeare Players Camp (July 8-19) offers students the chance to stage a classic Shakespeare play. For summer of 2019 Shakespeare Players will be performing productions of As You Like It (our 2019 show for Free Shakespeare in the Park),The Tempest, and Playing the Fool (a collection of scenes of physical comedy from several of Shakespeare's plays).
Enrollment for the McLaren Shakespeare Camps is limited; our June 10 Players camp is already FULL! Enroll for the July 8 session NOW and avoid hearing "Sorry - session filled."
Teen actors delve deeply into the world of Shakespearean performance in our Upstart Crows (June 10-21) program. This summer, Upstart Crows will be calling out sexism and toxic masculinity in their own version of Shakespeare's knockabout comedy, The Taming of the Shrew.
