Students will study Shakespeare's theatre in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Campers are taught by theatre practitioners who lead interactive classes in Shakespeare's poetry, clowning traditions, and stage combat. The camp culminates in a final performance of an abridged Shakespeare play for family and friends. Experience is welcome but not required to get into the act and have fun with your friends this summer! Visit our FAQ page for additional information.
Our two-week Shakespeare Players Camp (June 10-21 and July 8-19) offers students the chance to stage a classic Shakespeare play. For summer of 2019 Shakespeare Players will be performing productions of Pyramus and Thisbe (the antic play-within-a-play from A Midsummer Night's Dream), As You Like It (our 2019 show for Free Shakespeare in the Park) and The Comedy of Errors (chaos and confusion reign when two sets of twins unwittingly end up in the same town)
Teen actors delve deeply into the world of Shakespearean performance in our Upstart Crows (June 10-21) program. This summer, Upstart Crows will be staging their own version of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost. In this comic tale, the King of Navarre and his three Lords have vowed to dedicate themselves to their studies for a period of three years. Their commitments to study are put to the test when the Princess of France and her attendants arrive for a visit!
