Ella Francis Juliet/Capulet Servant

Ella is thrilled to be returning to the story of Romeo and Juliet having just recently played the role of Juliet with the Half Moon Bay Shakespeare Company. She first came in contact with SF Shakes in their summer camps when she was 6 and fell completely in love with the Bard's language. She eventually ended up joining the company on their free Shakespeare in the park productions of Macbeth and Taming of the Shrew. Since then she has gotten to work around the Bay Area and recently completed the actor training program with the Pacific Conservatory Theatre (PCPA) on the Central Coast.

Myles Romo Romeo

Myles is excited to join the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival as Romeo. This is his second time he will be playing as Romeo alongside one of his closesst friends, Ella Ruth Francis. Other credits include: King Pelias in Argonautika (PCPA), Mr. Henderson in You Can't Take It With You (PCPA), Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet (Delta Drama), and El-Fayoumy in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (Delta Drama).

Sarah Williams Nurse/Benvolio

Sarah is thrilled to be joining the cast of Romeo and Juliet in her first show with the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival. She holds a BA in theatre performance from SDSU and has completed a Shakespeare intensive program at LAMDA in the UK. Favorite past roles include Chiron in Titus Andronicus (Vallejo Shakes), Paulina in The Winter’s Tale (LAMDA), Maggie in The Shadowbox (Arizona Western College), and Nerissa in The Merchant of Venice (Arizona Western College). Sarah is new to the bay area and is enjoying all the theatre Northern California has to offer.

Andrea J. Love Mercutio/Friar/Authority

Andrea is thrilled to be back on tour with SF Shakes after playing Viola/Sebastian in last year’s Twelfth Night. She was most recently seen at Capital Stage Company as Jane Bingley in Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley. Other work in the Bay includes her TBA Award-winning run as Hope in Berkeley Playhouse’s Urinetown, three shows this summer with Davis Shakespeare Festival, and several roles with Sacramento Theatre Company. Upcoming: You Are My Sunshine with the Alma Theatre Company in SF. Much love to her family, friends, and macaroni and cheese.

Annika Bergman

Annika Bergman Tybalt/Capulet

Annika is thrilled to be making her debut with SF Shakes in Romeo and Juliet. Annika is no stranger to tours having performed the bard’s The Tempest all over eastern New Hampshire. Other credits include Sally Bowles (Cabaret), Maureen (RENT) and Roxie Hart (Chicago). “I can no answer make but thanks and thanks” to have the opportunity to share this show with you.


Natalie Ayala Juliet/Capulet Servant (Alternate)

Natalie fell in love with Theater in the 8th grade when she performed in Olympus as Athena. She has trained at the A.C.T. She has been featured in shows such as The Mouse Trap (Mollie Ralston); You Can’t Take It With You (Mrs. Kirby), Sweet Charity (Hostess), and Sofa Sin Casa (Corrine). She was featured in San Francisco State University Shakespeare Goes To School Cabaret. She was also involved in SFSU Brown Bag where she was featured in shows such as Trifles (Mrs. Peters), Five Women Wearing the Same Dress (Trisha), and Immaculate (Gabriel) . She has currently earned her BA in Theater Arts at San Francisco State University and was recently seen in the 2017 SF Shakes production of Hamlet.

Salim Razawi Romeo/Montague Servant (alternate)

Salim is excited to be returning to SF Shakes where he was last seen as Malvolio in the Twelfth Night tour. Other recent credits include Disgraced at San Jose Stage Company, Our Enemies with Golden Thread Productions. Additionally, Salim has performed with TheatreWorks, Broadway By the Bay, Altarena Playhouse, Pacific Coast Repertory Theatre, Berkeley Playhouse, Tri-Valley REP, Bay Area Children’s Theatre. Tabard Theatre, and Livermore Shakespeare Festival. Salim is a teaching artist with A.C.T, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and a director & stage manager for multiple theatre companies throughout the bay area. He can also be seen on a featured TEDx Talk.

David Schiller

David Schiller Nurse/Benvolio (Alternate)

David has been performing in the Bay Area in Shakespeare, Musicals, and a scattering of plays for the past 3 years. Favorite Shakespeare Tour credits are Shylock in The Merchant of Venice (Shenandoah Shakespeare) and Stephano and Alonso in The Tempest (National Shakespeare). Local credits include Edgar in King Lear (Theatre Rhinoceros), Franz in The Producers (BBB), and this past summer as Prof. Harold Hill in The Music Man (Throckmorton 142). David is thrilled to be joining for his first SF Shakes show and is excited to explore the world of the Nurse!


Tin Le Tybalt/Capulet (Alternate)

Tin is made his debut with SF Shakes as an alternate for Orsino/Sir Toby in this past spring's Twelfth Night tour. He received a double B.A. from UC San Diego in Theatre and History, with emphasis on acting and directing. Some of his past credits include: Bus Stop, War of the Worlds, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Hamlet. He also worked in multiple new play festivals, creating and developing original theatrical works. He would like to thank his family and friends for their endless amount of support and love.

Cecelia Palmtag

Cecilia Palmtag Mercutio/Friar (Alternate)

Cecilia Palmtag is a San Francisco based performer and theater maker. Her interest lies at the intersection of immersive installations, interactive theater, and education. She has trained as a performer (SF State, Moscow Art Theatre) helmed work as a director and creative producer (Ragged Wing, Velocity Arts, Off Broadway West), and worked with local companies including; Playwrights Foundation, PianoFight, Shotgun Players, Voetica, and the O’Neill Foundation. Favorite roles include: Dorothy in The Speakeasy, King Henry in King Henry IV p.1 (The Free Theatre), Hedda in Hedda Gabler (Off Broadway West), Ariel in The Tempest (Do It Live! Productions), and Gran in Red Wolf (Ragged Wing). She’s honored to be debuting with the SF Shakespeare Festival in this concise and poignant adaptation of R&J!


Carla Pantoja*+ Director

Carla is excited to be working with Shakespeare on Tour. She has most recently played Paulina in The Winter’s Tale, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, and Kate in The Taming of the Shrew in Free Shakespeare in the Park. She’s performed with Cal Shakes, Shotgun Players, Crowded Fire, Playground, Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, and the SF Mime Troupe in the Bay Area to name a few. Carla is a certified fight instructor and a founding member of Dueling Arts San Francisco. She is a proud member of Playground and a Resident Artist with the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival.
