SF Shakes teaching artists get Shakespeare curriculum on its feet!
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not scheduling any further residencies for Spring 2020.
Tailor-Made Residencies bring San Francisco Shakespeare Festival’s 30 years of educational and theatrical expertise to students for a Shakespeare experience that they will never forget! Our expert teaching artists use their skills and training to inspire students to get excited about bringing Shakespeare's plays to life!
SF Shakes teaching artists visit classrooms to support learning about Shakespeare's theatre and plays. We customize the experience to match the plays that students will either study in class or see performed live to enrich their understanding and appreciation.
Artists-in-Residence visit classrooms over a two to three week period to support a Shakespeare or Historical school unit. Teaching Artists support anything from student performances of Shakespeare's plays, in-class presentations, or project based-learning events like a school Renaissance Fair.
SF Shakes creates custom curriculums and support for an extended, in-depth look at Shakespeare's plays and theatre. Our approach focuses on games, acting essentials, voice, movement and, of course, Shakespeare’s words! SF Shakes teaching artists engage with students over a long term collaboration with groups of students from around the Bay Area.
